Governor Tom Wolf increases gathering size limits

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced that indoor  and outdoor events may increase their gatherings to 75% of capacity.  This change impacts a variety of businesses including gyms, entertainment venues, and malls will increase their capacity. This will be effective on April 4, 2021.

In a recent Covid-19 update Governor Tom Wolf tweeted cases are declining and the vaccination rates are increasing.

With spring already here and the weather getting warmer and sunnier, people are desperate to be outside.

Gov. Wolf has also empathized that “while we are getting better, but now is not the time to stop the safety measures that have been put in place. There will still be a need for wearing masks, social distancing, and getting vaccinated when you can.” 

Philadelphia will now expand gathering to limit at 25% for indoor events and 50% for outdoor.

A spokesperson for the City of Philadelphia told 6ABC News,  “We will review any new changes to statewide restrictions issued by the governor and determine what makes sense for Philadelphia based on our local conditions. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, Philadelphia is able to remain more restrictive than the  state when it comes to Covid-19 mitigation guidance.”

On March 15, Gov. Wolf announced a few acceptable modifications:

  • Restaurants can resume bar services 
  • Curfew for removing alcoholic drinks will be lifted
  • Alcohol service is allowed without the need of purchasing food.
