On their 2025 tour, they will bring fun and innovative ways to show off their athleticism. With seemingly impossible and impressive skills, guests can expect to see the world record-breaking, trick-shot basketball stars live as they bring their signature spins, dunks, and slams to the court, taking on their determined rivals, the Washington Generals. This year’s tour will have fan engagement and more in-game fan interactions than ever before.
The Globetrotters have toured over 400 cities and 25 countries. They originally started with the Wendell Phillips High School team. It was a Negro American league. Then, in 1927, they became a professional team known as the Savoy Big Five. Later that year, Abe Saperstine bought the team and renamed the team the Harlem Globetrotters. Until the late 1930’s the Globetrotters were a competitive team and in 1940 they won the prestigious World Professional Basketball Tournament in Chicago. The Globetrotters then started to try working on light comedic routines.
After WWII, the team became real “globetrotters,” traveling worldwide to entertain. In 1951, they performed in Berlin in front of 75,000 people at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. In 1985, gold medalist Lyneet Woodward joined the Globetrotters, becoming the first female to ever play on a men’s pro basketball team and helping to blaze a path for the WNBA.
In 1993, former Globetrotter Mannie Jackson bought the team. He became the first African-American to own a major international sports and entertainment organization. After he bought the team, their revenue tripled with charitable contributions totaling more than $11 million under Jackson’s guidance.
Today, the Globetrotters game features some of the best athletes on the planet, unmatched fan interaction, incredible ball-handling wizardry, the famous Harlem Globetrotters 4-point shot, rim-rattling dunks, and side-splitting comedy.
