The Hershey Trojans boys varsity basketball team defeated Lower Dauphin Falcons 58-50 on Tuesday night. They retained their undefeated status with the victory.
Exuding positive energy postgame, Coach Blackburn expressed his enthusiasm for his team. Blackburn said, “I encouraged them to stay in the moment. Don’t be upset about past mistakes, try to do the right things as often as possible, be a good teammate, and we can live with the results.”
With such a tight competition, Blackburn tried a number of player combinations until he could find the right formula to win the game. This formula consisted of good team defense, shareable and playable offense, and competing as a team and not individually.
The stretch for a breathable lead, led by James Campbell IV with a three-point shot, was a big boost for the Hershey Trojans. Additionally, Aidan Miller was able to get a steal, and the layup performed by Drew Grana ended up getting the victory for the Trojans. The team’s defense and ability to have good rebounds was just enough for the boys to beat their rivals.
