Project Hail Mary is a science fiction film filled with space adventure, suspense, and humour. During the opening weekend, it generated over $80 million making it the biggest opening of 2026 for AMC Theaters. In addition, the movie received a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

This adventure-filled film has famous actors: Ryan Gosling, who has won a Golden Globe and Sandra Hüller, who has been nominated for an Academy Award.

This PG-13 movie is about a science teacher, Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), waking up on a spaceship with no recollection of how he ended up there. Throughout the movie his memory starts returning, discovering who he is, how he got there, and why he is in space. Grace spends his time in space solving the mystery on why the sun is dying out, but he may not have been alone.

Project Hail Mary premiered in theaters on March 20, 2026 with a running time of 2 hours and 37 minutes. There were two directors on this film. The directors were Phil Lord and Chris Miller who both produced movies together like 21 Jump Street, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Lego Movie. In addition, Ryan Gosling, who played the main character, was also a producer on the film.

Overall, the plot was captivating and each scene was done incredibly. In fact, the film used no green screens and took about 4 years to make.

Thanks to the main actors – Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller, and voice actor, James Ortiz – viewers had goosebumps seeing the amount of details and energy spent in this fantastic movie.
