The Hershey Gardens have canceled this year’s Easter sunrise service for the first time in decades. The Hersheypark Gardens have been hosting their sunrise service since 1947.
This year, it will not happen after the Hershey Company put out a statement apologizing to everyone who had planned to attend this service. “Due to ongoing construction and necessary horticulture improvements within the Gardens, we are unable to host the service this year,” the statement said.
This was a non-denominational service provided by the Hershey Ministerium. This service took place at the gardens overlooking the town of Hershey, utilizing the high-ground views of the 23-acre botanical gardens.
