Junior Lucy Trout performed original songs and covers to an audience of a few dozen on Main Street in Hummelstown on Friday, September 12th, from 6:00pm to 8:15pm. Trout is a student at Hershey High School who has previously performed as part of the choir and in the 2024 winter musical, Seussical, as Baby Kangaroo.
Trout’s performance was part of Hummelstown’s “2nd Fridays” event, where the town invites local artists to the intersection of Main Street and South Hanover Street to perform for the public. This is Trout’s first appearance at the event.
The set list consisted of original songs that Trout has released and covers from artists such as Taylor Swift, Billy Joel, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams.
“I couldn’t imagine doing anything with my life other than performance. If I wasn’t playing music here, I would be performing it in my bedroom at home,” said Trout.
Junior Vivian Kaiser, an HHS student in attendance, said, “Her passion doesn’t go unnoticed. You can tell that she loves what she’s doing.” Trout has worked extensively with the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame, which is based in Hummelstown, performing at several of their events.
The audience was made up of Trout’s friends and family, locals who had heard about the event, and passersby who heard her music from nearby businesses. A local resident heard the music from her apartment across the street and came down to the event to find out more about Trout.
Attendee and fellow HHS junior Olivia O’Connor said, “Her music makes everyone stop and listen.”
Trout’s music is available on multiple streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
