Hershey Baseball Loses in Extra Innings at Palmyra

Hershey faced a tough loss of 5-4 against Palmyra on the Cougars Senior night May 7, 2019.

After Trojans were leading in the seventh inning, Palmyra tied it up to 4-4. The normal number of innings in high school is seven, but the tie resulted in an extra inning.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Palmyra put the game away with a walk-off RBI double.

Junior pitcher Tyler Meister said, “We were one out away from a win, but a costly mistake evened the game out and put them in extra innings.”

Hershey varsity baseballs record is 6-12, and they are currently ranked fifth in the Keystone division.

Hershey’s next game is Thursday, May 9, 2019 against Harrisburg.
