The Bangtan Boys (BTS) are on their way to making history.

On June 13, 2013, BTS began their journey. They were put together by Big Hit Entertainment (BHE) after Bang Shi Hyuk, BHE’s CEO, thought member Kim Nam-Joon needed to be a part of a hip-hop group.

The group currently consists of seven members: Min Yoon Gi (Jin), 25, Moon Yoon-Gi (Suga), 24, Jung Ho-seok (J-Hope), 23, Kim Nam-Joon (Rap Monster), 23, Park JiHyun (Jimin), 22, Kim Tae-Hyung, 22, and Jeon Jeong-guk (Jungkook), 20.

BTS has released a total of 24 albums, EPs, and remixes on iTunes. The group has gained a lot of publicity, though not all of it has been good. Some negative PR includes negative comments from articles when they won a Billboard Music Award, but their fans have stood with them through it all.

The K-Pop group reached Billboard’s World Albums chart a total of 3 times, which has set a new record.

Currently, BTS holds three places in Billboard’s World Albums chart. With their 12th EP, titled Love Yourself 承 ‘Her,’ in first place and their second and third albums, You Never Walk Alone and Wings, holding fifth and fourth place respectively, BTS seems to be on the road to success.

The new EP, Love Yourself 承 ‘Her,’ achieved the highest rating in K-Pop history.  Sales have exceeded 1,203,533 copies since its release on September 18, 2017 .

Along with their new EP, they also collaborated with DJ Steve Aoki on a song entitled, “Mic Drop.” The song’s music video has amassed a total of 112 million views since it was first released on November 24th.

In addition to their millions of views and sales, BTS has made appearances on many American TV shows. These visits include the Ellen Show, the Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and even the American Music Awards.

From their first album reaching around 24,441 sales in 2013 to their newest album earning around 1,203,533 in 2017, BTS’ fandom, whom they call the Army, is certain that BTS is destined for greatness.
