The Hershey Girls Volleyball team defeated Mechanicsburg 3-1 on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

Mechanicsburg took the first set 19-25, but Hershey came back, winning 25-19 and 25-14. While each match was close, the fourth set was an intense back and forth game, turning what is usually a 25 point game into 34.

Annie Shay, sophomore, said the team had to overcome the loss of varsity starter, Lizzie Zeiber, to injury.

“During the game we played down a bit and let them get up, but we worked together well and began to play like ourselves,” said Shay.

Hershey will finish their regular season when they face Milton Hershey on Thursday, October 19.
