Hershey softball loses to Bishop McDevitt

The Hershey High School Trojans lost 9-2 to the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at Hershey’s South Field on Thursday April 27, 2017. The game was Hershey’s senior night, celebrating seniors Taylor Massage, Mikala Awde, Carly Morelli, Annika Torp, Alaina Helm, Elizabeth McCurdy, and Laura Benton.

The Crusaders started off strong in the first inning, scoring three runs on the Trojans. The Trojans responded with their only two runs of the game, coming from freshman Claire Sheppard and senior Mikala Awde. Continuing into the second inning, neither teams got a run, but in the third, McDevitt got four runs, making the score 7-2.

In the top of the fourth, McDevitt made one more run, with the Trojans still with only two. In the seventh, McDevitt scored their final run, and the Trojans could not get another.
