Sophomore Caden Freer started off the scoring for the Trojans just seven minutes into the game. Freshman Jason Rippon scored later in the first to help the Trojans to a first period 2-0 lead.

The Rams attempted a comeback in the second period. Deryck Zerby scored two goals within the first eight minutes into the second period tying the score.

However, the tie didn’t last very long. Hershey juniors Sammy Steele and Sabatino Iannarello scored three goals between them, making the score 5-2 at the end of the second period.

Each team scored three goals in the third period. Steele scored again for the Trojans and achieved a hat trick for himself. HHS senior Zane Elliott also scored for the Trojans.  The Rams scored a trio themselves, but a final goal by Iannarello to cap the scoring put the game out of reach.  At the final horn the Trojans held a three goal lead 8-5 over the Rams.

Freshman goalie, Christopher Larkin faced 34 shots and saved 29.

The Hershey Trojans honored the fellow seniors in a ceremony before the game; Aaron Dobrolsky, Zane Elliott, Joey Mishler, and Jason Walk.

Hershey Trojans take on Lower Dauphin Falcons at Twin Ponds East on Friday February 3, at 6:30pm.
