On Saturday October 8, 2016, the Lower Dauphin field hockey team defeated Hershey 2-1 in overtime.

The first half was fairly uneventful; however, during the last five minutes, Hershey High School junior, Korryn Kehler, scored a goal with an assist from Ali Cronin, senior at HHS.

In the second half, LD was able to score and tie Hershey. Hershey was unable to come back with another goal and so the game moved into overtime. The rules for overtime specify that both teams play seven players instead of eleven and both have 15 minutes to score a goal.

In those fifteen minutes, LD was able to score the winning goal, and since overtime is sudden death, Hershey was defeated.

Although it was a loss, Hershey hopes to do well in the next upcoming game at Warwick on October 10, 2016.
