On Tuesday, September 27, 2016 Hershey girls soccer tied Lower Dauphin 1-1.

LD striker, sophomore Mayson Light, beat Hershey defender, senior Mikayla Awde, to score the  first goal of the game. Hershey junior Lauren Epler scored the first and only goal for the Trojans, with help from freshman Claudia Zugay.

Two ten minute overtime periods were played to see if either team could score one more goal. Both teams battled back and forth on corner kicks. LD received a shot on an open goal with three minutes remaining, but junior Mckenna Lewis dove into the net and saved the Trojans of a 2-1 loss.

“I’m really proud of our effort tonight and in the past few games.” said Katelyn Coco, “LD is always a great rivalry game, and although everyone hates a tie, I’m happy with how our team played.”
