“You’re In!”
On April 29th, HHS students had the opportunity to spend the morning playing everyone’s favorite game. Kahoot! as described by the game’s website, is, “a fun learning game made from a series of multiple choice questions.”
Kahoot! was launched in 2013 in hopes of bringing joy to learning. Since the launch, students and teachers all over the globe have loved Kahoot!, including those at HHS.
HHS teachers Pete Steelman and Jeff Mummert are among the majority who like Kahoot! Both teachers use it in their classrooms frequently.
Steelman decided to do Kahoot! Trivia as a session for Community Day because, “It’d be fun. Everyone likes trivia and Kahoot!.” Mummert liked the idea and decided to join Steelman.
“Some [of the other sessions] were boring, we’re hoping this is one that won’t be,” Mummert said.
The game consisted of 40 questions, with topics about everything from the Hershey community to celebrities in their early days.
Instead of students picking their names like usual, Steelman gave each student a card with name of a superhero. “This made the process move quicker, and added a fun element to the game.” Steelman said.
After the session, HHS Sophomore Lauryn Gaston said “It was a fun way to learn about the HHS community.”
