This years awards were difficult to predict as there were many excellent nominees. This year’s ceremony also had to overcome a large amount of controversy. Despite many great performances by black actors and directors, none were nominated, which was a large source of the trouble. Nonetheless, the golden statuettes were handed out to what the academy thought were the best directors, performances, and movies. Now the whole process begins again as a new batch of movies and filmmakers strive to achieve Oscar gold in the future 2017 Academy Awards.
