HERSHEY- On February 26, 2016 Hershey High School junior Alan Hwang was awarded the Grand Champion title at the 59th Annual Capital Area Science and Engineering Fair.
This award is the most prestigious award presented at the fair, and was given to one student from the 45 schools that participated in this year’s competition. Hwang’s win advances him to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair held in Phoenix, Arizona in May 2016.
Senior Maggie Wu and junior Erica Wang were finalists for the Grand Champion award and Wu was recognized as alternate Grand Champion.
Additionally, over 25 awards in various categories were presented to HHS students for their projects and research.
Hershey High School was represented by freshmen Advay Mongia and Aparajita Rao; sophomores Veda Chanda and Michael Zaidel; juniors Laura Benton, Grant Geyer, Alan Hwang, Samika Kanekar, Michael Miller, Erica Wang, and Chenchen Yuan; and senior Maggie Wu at this year’s competition.
