10 Must-See Movies Coming Out This Summer

Summer is a perfect time to enjoy the thrill of new released movies. The new summer movies of 2023 come from action packed adventures, to heartwarming comedies or romance. This summers movie lineup comes with new exciting entertainment, so get ready to grab your favorite snacks to dive into the top 10 summer movies of 2023!

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is an action film releasing on June 9th, based on the Transformers toy line. The film takes place in Brookly, with Maximals, Predacons and Terrorcons who join the existing battle on Earth between Autobots and Decepticons. 

The Flash- Produced by DC studios is intended to be a time traveling action filled with suspense and alternate reality. When the flash travels back in time to prevent his mothers murder, he gets trapped in a parallel universe without real humans. This exciting film can be seen in theaters on June 16th.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny- This action focuses on a daredevil archeologist who fights time to change the course of history. Jones later finds himself in disagreement with a former nazi who works for NASA, resulting in later issues. Watch this new film, as it will be released on the 16th of June.

Barbie- For someone who lives in a perfect toy world, just taking the wrong path can lead this doll to enter a new real world. This movie, released on July 21st is based off of the popular doll from the 90’s, seems to be a laugh-out-loud movie filled with plastic and pink. 

Elemental- Ember and Wade are focused on a city where fire, water and air residents live together. These two very different characters discover something very elemental- how much they secretly have in common. See this new pixar film as soon as June 16, 2023.

Oppenheimer- Robert Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist was heavily involved with the Manhattan Project, which developed the first nuclear weapons to bomb Japanese cities. This film, released on July 21, dives deep into the idea of a man being the father of the atomic bomb.

Dune Part 2- Timothy Chalamet returns as Paul, who’s teamed up with Chani and Fremen to make a better future, as they also are in an attempt to wreak revenge on the people responsible for the murder of his family. 

The Little Mermaid- Disney’s live action remake of The Little Mermaid stars Halle Bailey as Ariel. She is a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a desire for adventure. This movie can be seen in theaters on May 26th!!

Asteroid City- This movie was set in the “50’s in a fake desert town in the US. The movie is based off of a convention that is organized to bring students and parents together, forming fellowship and competition amongst fellow scholars. These hopes were severely interrupted by world changing events, and can be seen on June 16. 

Blue Beetle- Introducing a new superhero to the DCU, Blue Beetle is played as a teenager called Jamie Reye who finds an odd beetle, giving him superhero powers. This new release stars Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, and George Lopez, and can be viewed on August 18th.
