The Actor Who Voiced Bruce in “Finding Nemo” Has Passed Away

Barry Humphries, the Australian-born actor and comic, died in Sydney on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 89, according to The Guardian. 

His death was confirmed by St. Vincent’s Hospital following complications from a hip surgery. 

He is the man Bruce in “Finding Nemo,” Dame Edna in “The Dame Edna Experience,” and the Great Goblin in “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.”

In 2019, his name was taken from the MICF award because of his comments about transgender people. However, on Monday, MICF said on Twitter that they will pay tribute to him in some way. 

The prime minister of Australia, Anthony Albanse, praised Humphries on Twitter by saying, “a great wit, satirist, writer, and absolute one of a kind”, according to The New York Times
