The Hershey Girls Basketball team was defeated by Palmyra 32-34, on December 22, 2021.

The game was close the entire time, as neither team pulled ahead by more than five.  In the fourth quarter with less than five seconds left, down by two, Hershey needed a miraculous shot, and Cotter got the ball. Just as the buzzer went off she made a long three, but the officials ruled the shot was taken after the buzzer.

Palmyra’s Keely Bowers scored crucial points for the Cougars to secure the win.

The Trojans had a tall starting five and utilized their height on the court to get turnovers. Seniors Anna Coulter and Ellie Fasik used their height to drive in the paint, and Cotter utilized her shooting to score a three.

At halftime, the teams were tied with 10 points. The low score was down to the tenacious defense by both teams. Fasik contributed with blocks, and sophomore Lauren Yazinski forced turnovers with her two charges.

Seniors Coulter, Fasik, and Cotter also contributed to the scoreboard.

The Trojans next game is on Tuesday, December 28th, against Middletown.
