HHS XC wraps undefeated season by trouncing Lower Dauphin

Hershey High School boys and girls Cross Country teams easily swept past Lower Dauphin 16-47 and 16-44, respectively, on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
Senior Evan Alander set a course record with a 17:52 and was closely followed by senior Peter Barto (17:53). Juniors Dillan O’Shell (18:09) and Adam Neilson (18:10) both crossed the line before LD’s first runner. Ultimately, the boys team would put nine runners across the line before LD’s second competitor with junior Nathan Nielson (18:17), senior Evan Smith (18:19) and sophomore Nick Kelly (18:19) rounding out the scoring.
Sophomore Brooke Preputnick set a course record 20:57 on the largely flat, but slightly over regulation length course at Conewago Elementary School. Junior Emma Taylor (21:12), sophomore Ally Wilson (21:54), and junior Julia Zakovitch (22:06) all crossed the finish line before LD’s first runner. Sophomore Rachel Lyn-Sue (22:31) wrapped up the scoring for the Trojans.
Both the boys and girls teams concluded the regular season with undefeated records and their next competition is the Mid-Penn Championship race at Big Spring High School on October 24, 2020.
