The Hershey High School (HHS) Competitive Cheer Squad competed in the PIAA State championship on Friday, January 10th, 2020.

Hershey competed against 34 teams, and the top 50% of the teams qualified for the second day of competition.

Hershey received a 2.75 deduction from their routine and placed 21st out of 34 teams. Although HHS did not qualify for the semifinals, the team was one place away from competing on the second day.

This is Hershey’s first season competing in the PIAA competition. They were very successful competing at states and placed first at the District Championships earlier in the season.

“I was so proud of our team as a whole for making it as far as we did. I think next year the team will continue to grow and become better competitors,” said Clare Canavan, captain of the HHS cheer team.
