Hershey High School (HHS) has announced five of their senior students as National Merit Scholarship Finalists that have qualified for recognition in the NMS Program and a future college scholarship.

The five students that were announced as finalists were Madeline Barto, Levent Batakci, Tuan Bui, JT Mullins, and Smitha Ramesh. The seniors were recognized for their exceedingly high PSAT scores and will receive a certificate given by the HHS administration.

With the students academic record, test scores, and a written essay taken into account, these five HHS seniors will soon find out if they were selected for a Merit Scholarship award. Three types of awards will be given to the winners with a scholarship including a Corporate or College Sponsored Merit Scholarship Award, or a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship.

“It’s a great feeling knowing that I have come this far in the process, and I really look forward to seeing what the next couple months hold for me and possibly receiving this scholarship,” says Bui.

Beginning from March to mid-June, the Finalists will be notified if they have received a National Merit Scholarship.
