In the first Cinema Club podcast of the 2018-2019 school year, I spoke with Kyllian Harper and Matt Keeler about the 2018 sequel to the 1978 horror classic Halloween.

This story takes place 40 years after the first Halloween, with Michael Myers escaping from prison as he’s being transferred by bus. Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), the babysitter from the original, has been waiting for Michael to escape so she can kill him.

This sequel abandons the nine other Halloween sequels and instead comes exactly 40 years after the original of the same name.  We discussed the pros and cons of the story, the possibility of more Halloween movies, and our overall rating of the film.
