Although SAT’s are important, universities are adjusting their requirements.
Standardized tests such as SAT’s are the most important element for the acceptance of universities. These tests are generally taken as high schoolers and used for an admission to colleges. Recent studies have shown that schools are becoming more particular in their choices of students basing off their scores according to New York Times. Although it has been undetermined if these tests are a dependable use of success, schools are modifying their acceptance rules according to studies.
A majority of students focus on the aspects of good grades or an average GPA, according to US News. Colleges differ from one to another. Many focus on factors like an individual’s transcript, extracurriculars or simple averaging of grades. But the importance of SAT scores are more likely centered upon.
With exceptions of grades and activities, admissions are more likely to rely on SAT scores. SAT is a test that is a test introduced in 1926 which are used in college admissions throughout the United States. According to studies, many schools are beginning to drop the need of the scores. An expert at George Washington University located in Washington, D.C., stated that they began to decline the offers of these scores and making them insignificant.
While asking 60 Hershey High School students about whether they thought PSAT’s were helpful, about 84% believed they were, while the remaining believed they were not. When being asked which test will be taken before applying for schools, almost all answered SAT’s. 90% of 11th grade students have taken the PSAT’s, as the 10% were sophomores.
