Students Against Destructive Decisions allowed underclassmen to drive impaired for their first and, hopefully, last time.
All Hershey High School students were offered the chance to experience distracted driving in a realistic simulator run by the Arrive Alive Tour on Friday, May 13, 2016. As an attempt to teach the dangers of driving while texting or drinking, students got behind the wheel of a stationary car with a delayed reaction system. To have the realistic feel, students wore simulation goggles while they were taken through a driving course. As per the intended lesson, most were unable to pass the course without crashing or receiving infractions. The event was well received among the HHS community and effectively warned students of the dangers that come with distracted driving.
