On April 8th, Reese’s released their new PB&J Big Cups with strawberry and grape jelly filling. These new candies were teased with Reese’s April Fools Prank, which was a post featuring “Chocolatey Bread” creating a PB&J. After many fans expressed their desire for the bread to be sold, Reese’s announced their Big Cups, along with a sandwich kit complete with their new “Chocolatey Bread”.
The PB&J Big Cups are sold in two flavors, one with strawberry jelly, and one with grape. There are two sizes sold currently, a regular size and a snack size. The regular size is 1.4oz, and is sold individually for $1.79, with prices varying. The snack size is 0.55oz, and is sold at Walmart in a 12 pack for $2.88.
The jelly in the Big Cups has a good flavor, but there is not enough of it. The ratio between peanut butter and jelly is not equal, and the peanut butter overpowers the jelly. I think that having more jelly in the cups would make them better. According to critics from The Takeout, a culinary review website the strawberry cups are so much better than the grape, saying that releasing the grape was a “huge fail”. I felt that the grape flavor was not as strong, which made it even less exciting.
Overall, the strawberry jelly was pretty good, but the grape jelly was disappointing. You can find these candies on Hershey’s website to try them for yourself.
