Duck Donuts releases a series of cotton candy inspired menu items

Pictured are the Cotton Candy Explosion and Cotton Candy Dream donuts. Both were loved by customers and were perfect treats for the warm weather.

With summer quickly approaching, Duck Donuts has released six cotton candy inspired donuts as well as a cotton candy milkshake. These new additions to the menu feature both cotton candy toppings, and cotton candy icing.

The first donut was the Cotton Candy Explosion. It is described to have blue cotton candy icing, cotton candy topping, and vanilla drizzle. This was true, although as can be seen in the photograph, the vanilla drizzle overtook the donut, making it difficult to taste the cotton candy flavoring of the blue icing. 4/5

The next donut was named Strawberry Cotton Candy. The donut consisted of strawberry icing, and cotton candy topping. Again, this donut was very good, but more strawberry flavor could be detected than cotton candy. This donut would be a great choice for anyone who likes strawberry treats. 3/5

Next up was the Cotton Candy Swirl. This donut had a base of vanilla icing and was topped with cotton candy drizzle as well as cotton candy topping. This donut was one of the most flavorful in terms of cotton candy. Because of the neutral vanilla icing as a base, the cotton candy add-ons seemed more flavorful. 4.5/5

Another donut was Cotton Candy Dream. This donut also had a vanilla icing base and cotton candy topping, but was instead drizzled with strawberry. Although the strawberry flavor was very evident, the cotton candy topping could still be tasted and was overall very good. 5/5

Next was Blueberry Cotton Candy. The donut was described as having blueberry icing with cotton candy crunch and drizzle on top. Similar to strawberry one, the blueberry icing as a base diluted the cotton candy flavor. This donut would likely be enjoyed by those who like blueberry flavoring. 3/5

The last donut was Cotton Candy Crunch. The donut consisted of cotton candy icing, drizzle, and topping. Overall, this donut was the easiest to identify as cotton candy flavored. Any cotton candy lover would likely enjoy this donut. 5/5

The cotton candy milkshake did not have a description, but tasted like vanilla ice cream and blue food coloring. Despite the creative thought, the flavor was mostly bland and did not taste like cotton candy in any respect. On the other hand, the donuts were warm, fresh, and tasted exactly as they were described.

If you want to try these new flavors, don’t wait, as they are limited edition and will not be sold past May 19th.
