On Wednesday, October 18th, Derry Township held their 75th annual Halloween parade. Families and children lined the streets of downtown Hershey in their Halloween costumes as floats from local organizations paraded through the square. The procession started at the Derry Township Community Center where they turned right onto Cocoa, up Elm, right onto Ridge, right onto Chocolate, and finally right back onto Cocoa where the floats returned to the Community Center.
Floats included Country Meadows, Hershey Youth Cheer and Football, One Broadway Dance Academy, Where the Wild Things Play, Creekview Lawn and Landscapes, The Hershey Aquatic Club, and many more.
The parade is sponsored by The Hershey Company, Hershey’s Federal Credit Union, and Derry Township’s Department of Parks and Recreation. The Hershey Company provided the community with plenty of candy that was passed out as each float passed by.
