HHS Girls XC narrowly defeat Lower Dauphin

The Hershey High School Girls Cross Country team secured their ninth straight undefeated regular season with a tight 28-29 victory over Lower Dauphin on the Conewago Elementary School course on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Hershey won thanks to their number four runner, Maddie Endlich, passing a pair of Lower Dauphin runners in the final stretch.

The weather was sweltering with several Hershey and Lower Dauphin runners needing medical attention at the finish line.

Hershey had runners finish second, Sophia Kim (20:42), third, Evie Einder (21:29), fifth, Yanwei Liu (21:45), sixth, Maddie Endlich (21:51), and twelfth, Lucy Barto (23:02).

The Hershey Girls team has not lost a regular season meet since 2014.

The next race for Hershey is the Mid-Penn Championship on Saturday, October 14 at Big Spring High School.
