ChatGPT has been a recent topic when dealing with schools and colleges. Some teachers and professors worry that their students have used AI to cheat while writing essays or doing homework. But what exactly is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT marks the pathway to artificial intelligence, according to UC Today. It was created by OpenAI, which is part of the AI industry. Microsoft has invested in OpenAI and uses it in its programs. Here is an answer from ChatGPT itself to the question of what is the AI website

“ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI based on the GPT-3 architecture, designed to simulate human-like conversation. It is a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence system that can process and generate text, and can be used for a wide range of natural language processing tasks such as language translation, question answering, summarization, and more. ChatGPT is capable of understanding context, semantics, and syntax of text to generate meaningful responses that simulate human-like conversation.”

In simple terms, it is a website that provides responses to questions. The goal of OpenAI is to help humanity. However, it is intended to be more than just answering questions.

Microsoft is also using parts of ChatGPT to help their employees work together.

Users can use the algorithm to write essays and poems. It can write computer programs and code. It also can provide medical tips and recipes. Also, it can even recommend lyrics and chords, according to PC Guide

ChatGPT is also rumored to have a pro version that charges users $42 monthly. They’re also rumored to have ChatGPT Plus, which is also created by OpenAI, and might charge their members only $20 per month.

Regardless, even AI can make mistakes. It is vulnerable to bias and potential inaccuracies.

Right now, they only have knowledge from 2021. The AI could also create inaccurate responses. Moreover, if the user asks the same question over and over, they might end up with a different answer. Even though it is a very advanced bot, it still has errors that need to be corrected.

So, be careful if ChatGPT is your only source. You should still make sure to do your own research.
