National Pennsylvania Day is celebrated each year on July 20th, according to the National Day Calendar. It is a day to celebrate the importance of Pennsylvania in American history and its unique landmarks and culture that remains today.

Pennsylvania gained statehood on December 12, 1787 when it became the second state to join the union.

Pennsylvania, otherwise known as the Keystone State, had a vital central location amongst the original thirteen colonies. 

Philadelphia was once the capital of the United States; therefore, it was home to many significant historical events, including the creation of the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.  

Pennsylvania’s state motto is “Virtue, liberty, and independence,” and its state bird is the ruffed grouse.
