Over 3,800 exhibitors revealed new cutting edge technologies in Las Vegas last week.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is an annual electronics show that takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. At this conference, exhibitors can show off their latest technological innovations to the world.
The first show took place in 1967 and featured 100 exhibitors. 18,000 people from the general public attended. This year 3,800 companies showed off their latest innovations to 170,000 attendants.
The CES once again confirmed its status as one of the leaders for global stage innovation as its attendees were from over 150 countries.
The Hairmax Laserband is one of the devices that received the most attention. Hairmax claims that by wearing their new headset your hair will thicken and even grow. The headset is aligned with 82 lasers, and when worn, it increases blood flow to the head. This allows more hair to grow. The device retails on their website now for $795.
Another technology that received a lot of buzz was the EHang 184 human sized drone. This drone can be controlled from the ground and can carry a single person. The flight time is 23 minutes and is able to reach top speeds of 60 mph. This product retails for around $250,000.
Tech company Garmin revealed a new accessory for cycle enthusiasts. The Varia Vision is a reality display that you attach to your sunglasses, specialized for bike riders. The display alerts you of traffic patterns, and directions. It can also record distances and times. The gadget will retail for $400 when it comes out later this year.
The Nima, from 6 Censor Labs, is a new gadget that could make life easier for millions of people with a gluten allergy around the world. This gadget will test foods for gluten in under 2 minutes with an antibody based test using disposable pods. It can be pre-ordered on Nima’s website today for $250.
Electronics company, Royole, released a new gadget targeted for movie lovers. The Royole-X Smart Mobile Theatre System is a foldable set of headphones you wear over your head and eyes for an immersive movie experience. The handheld movie theatre lets you stream movies and TV shows from Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube. It’s available on their website for $700.
