Covid Makes Homecoming Look Different

Homecoming at HHS will look a bit different than usual this year. Due to covid, HHS is working to change the traditional format of a game and dance, to include an evening strictly for homecoming court.

Mrs.Ives, HHS student council advisor, has been working on organizing this event for seniors that will take place on Thursday November 12th, on the 322 field from 6-8 PM. Recently a survey was sent out to the senior class in order to select eight nominees for king and queen, those elected will be further narrowed down, and a king and a queen will be chosen Homecoming night.

Striving to return to normalcy this senior year, HHS is considering postponing the homecoming dance to February when a winter formal usually takes place, in hopes of giving time for covid restrictions to lessen.

Typically, homecoming court would take place at a football game during half time, which was initially expected again this year. “Not having it attached to a football game, more people are able to come.” Mrs. Ives said.

HHS student council is hoping for a fun filled night and an enjoyable time for the seniors.
