Freshido Opens In Downtown Hershey
October 30, 2018
The opening of many new stores on Chocolate Avenue in downtown Hershey on Friday, October 12, has brought the addition of Freshido, a Hawaiian poke restaurant.
Freshido is a counter service restaurant where customers can build their own poke bowl or pokeritto, which is the same contents as the bowl but wrapped up like a burrito. Poke ( pronounced POH-keh) can be translated from Hawaiian as “to slice or cut”, and, in terms of food, refers to sliced chunks of meat or seafood that top rice and/or vegetables.
There are four different bases ranging from white and multigrain rice to quinoa and zucchini noodles, and eight proteins including raw tuna and salmon, scallops, bulgogi beef, shrimp, organic tofu, chicken, and bulgogi chicken to start off a bowl or pokeritto.
You can top your meal with 18 mix-ins, eight sauces, ten toppings, and six crunches to top off any poke meal. Along with the classic build-your-own poke bowls and pokerittos, Freshido also has the option of eight set recipes to try. Freshido also offers eight flavors of bubble tea.
There are also poke bowl catering packages available, with a 15-30 person package and 31-50 person package , which supplies the group with 3 bases, 4 proteins, and up to 8 toppings of choice for $11.95 per person.
The Hawaiian restaurant opened its first location last fall in Strawberry Square at Harrisburg. Hershey is the second Freshido to open up, along with a Mechanicsburg location expected to open soon.
Freshido will be open seven days a week from 11am to 9pm at 151 W. Chocolate Ave.
