Comey to testify against Trump

Former FBI director James Comey plans to make an announcement in the Senate in the near future confirming the speculation that President Trump pushed Comey to end the investigation regarding Trump’s ties to Russia.

Earlier this month, Comey was fired by President Trump because of the way he handled the end of the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, the Trump Administration claims. But, since his firing, there have been speculations by politicians on both sides of the aisle who believe the timing and abruptness of the termination may be reason to believe differently. The week of Comey’s firing he was set to have a briefing with the Senate about Trump’s ties to Russia.

Although this was all speculation, Comey plans to confirm those thoughts in a meeting with the Senate Intelligence Committee. The testimony will not reveal specific details of the investigation but focus on Trump and Comey’s interactions. The testimony by Comey will add fuel to the fire, and the investigations of Trump will likely deepen.

No official date has been set, but the testimony could happen as early as next week.
