There’s only one direction Harry Styles is going, and that direction is up.

Harry Styles, a 23 year old pop star from the United Kingdom, is one of the five members from the One Direction boyband who have decided to try out a solo career. One Direction ended their career as a group in October of 2015.  Each of the boys have been signed to a separate recording contract.  Styles is currently coming out with a new album and has announced a tour.

The duo eventually came out with a song called “Just Hold On”, which was released in 2016.  Niall Horan has not come out with an album yet, but Horan has come out with singles such as, “This Town” and “Slow Hands”.  Liam Payne is rumored to be coming out with a new album after leaving Simon Cowell’s record label.  

Styles’ new album is called Harry Styles, and it has two songs out: “Sign of the Times” and “Sweet Creature.”  With two songs released from the album, both have an overwhelming review of 4.5/5 stars with 537 ratings, most including immense positivity and support for Styles.

Styles has opened up with New Musical Express(NME), a British musical journalism magazine, by explaining the meaning of the song “Sign of the Times.”  According to the site, “Sign Of The Times” is about a young mother having minutes left to live.  

Apart from new music being released, Styles will also tour in honor of his album, which will be released momentarily.

For his upcoming tour, it only took two minutes for the tickets to sell out, which is only double the time it took for One Direction to sell out the Madison Square Garden in 2012. Some states Styles will be visiting include Pennsylvania, California, Tennessee, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Georgia, Texas, and Arizona.

Not only has Styles made the accomplishment of coming out with his own album and tour, he has also made appearances on the “Today Show”, where he performed some hits such as “Sign of the Times” and an old One Direction song called “Stockholm Syndrome”.

Styles said during a Billboard interview, “I kinda wanted to see if I could write something people liked without knowing everything about me. Anytime you’re doing anything different, it’s a bit scary.”
