February 7, 2017
On Friday, December 16th, the Hershey Trojans ice hockey team beat the Palmyra Cougars 3-2.
The first period was uneventful for both teams, the score being 0-0 at the end of the period.
Palmyra’s Brendon Daley started off the scoring in the game. Daley managed to score late into the second period. Hershey was unable to put a point on the scoreboard.
The Cougars lead was short lived because Hershey junior, Sabatino Iannarello, scored four minutes into the third
period. Freshman Jason Rippon netted another goal for the Trojans making the score of the game 2-1.
Palmyra’s Bryson Russell was able to tie the game, making the score 2-2. However, Iannarello was determined to change the score by slipping the puck past Palmyra’s goalie, Liam Schmidt, with one minute left into the last period, making it hard for the Cougars to get back into the game.
Trojans goalie, senior Aaron Dobrolsky, faced 28 shots and saved 26, meanwhile Schmidt faced 28 shots and saved 25.
The Trojans play again on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 8:15 at Klick Lewis Arena against Warwick High School.
