The Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies were officially announced by the Hershey Company back in September 2024. The launch introduced two oversized gummy varieties. The Original features Shaquille O’Neal’s face in peach, berry punch, and orange flavors, and the Sour features O’Neal’s iconic nicknames—Diesel, The Big Cactus, and The Big Shamrock—in pineapple, mixed berry, and green watermelon flavors. 

The launch gained visibility when Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies were named the Official Gummy of March Madness 2025. 

I was anxious to try the gummies when I found their goofy faces looming the aisles of Sheetz and Giant. Immediately, I was drawn to their bags’ striking colors and whimsical glow. It became apparent to me later that the product’s biggest appeal is its presentation. 

I found the flavor choices, particularly for the Sour variety, to be unnecessarily unique. The pineapple and mixed berry flavors did not mesh well with the sour gummy coating, resulting in an unpleasant aftertaste. 

The gummies themselves were incredibly gelatinous and almost too thick. Their consistency was similar to that of Swedish Fish, except the thickness of the Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies made them difficult to navigate. The gummies were rock solid and taxing on the jaw. 

The gummies boast a whimsical visual appeal and are of hilarious shapes. However, the flavors and textures of the gummies do not live up to the hype. If you are planning on purchasing the Shaq-A-Licious XL Gummies, my recommendation is to stick to one bag.
