As recently announced, Sam Mendes is making four Beatles movies, which will be released theatrically in April 2028.
The filmmaker announced the news at CinemaCon and confirmed the casting: Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harrison Dickinson as John Lennon.
Mendes claims it will be the “first binge-able theatrical experience.” Variety reports that he didn’t want to make a miniseries. He said that “the story was too huge to fit into a single movie.” The film is also the first narrative feature to be granted music rights to the Beatles’ extensive catalog hits, such as “Strawberry Fields,” “Let It Be,” “I Am the Walrus,” “Yellow Submarine,” and many other fantastic songs.
