ZooAmerica Hosts Events to Celebrate Their Animal of the Month

ZooAmerica is recognizing the river otter as its Animal of the Month, with special events featuring the zoo’s two otters.

Every Saturday and Sunday in March at 1 p.m., the zoo will host brief educational talks and offer treats at the Otter Habitat. Weekly otter spotlights will also be posted on the zoo’s Facebook page, and a contest will be held for a chance to win an otter plushie.

The zoo’s two river otters, Link and Iris, were both born in 2008. Link, a male, has been at ZooAmerica since 2013, while Iris arrived in 2019.

The camera we are working toward is the Sony a7 II Mirrorless Camera. It retails for about $1000 at B&H Photo and Video and comes with a kit lens, a 28-70mm. The lens is a big telephoto suitable for event and sports coverage, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens (Sony E). This lens retails for about $1500 at B&H Photo and Video.

Addi Sheppard is a reporter for the Hershey High School Broadcaster. She is a junior and this is her first year on the Broadcaster staff. Addi is a dancer at the Hershey School of Dance and also enjoys spending time with her family. Additionally, she works as a shift leader at Playa Bowls Hershey.
