Spanish National Honors Society is a HHS society that recognizes high achievement in Spanish. This society is for juniors and seniors that will assist with tutoring lower level Spanish students as well as participating in community service projects.
The advisors are Barbara Clouser and Megan MacNicol. The leadership team is composed of President Violet Foley, Vice President Genevieve Woods Abbe, Secretary Mythili Pai, and Treasure Anshi Paul.
When it comes to the society, they have many achievements and goals. When talking with Junior Fatma Hassan about their main goal, she said, “we celebrate Spanish heritage and culture.” This is due to the “hard working dedicated students ” said Hassan.
The Spanish National Honors Society has many events and opportunities. One main thing members do is “tutor students that need help in Spanish” said Junior Katelyn Yurick. In addition to tutoring, members have big events to attend. One event that already happened in December/January was the Hope Academy Donation Drive. The next one is coming up March 31st-April 14th, the Pulsera Project sale. The advisor, Mrs. MacNicol said, “Our Pulsera Project is very important.”
