In honor of Valentine’s Day, Playa Bowls In Hummelstown Pennsylvania has introduced two new Valentine’s Day inspired menu items. From February 4th to March 3rd, the Bae Bowl 2.0 and Chocolate Covered Strawberry Protein Smoothie are back. Don’t miss out on these limited-time sweet treats!
Priced at $13.00, the Bae Bowl 2.0 combines a base of strawberries, banana, and coconut milk, topped with blueberry flax granola, fresh strawberries, coconut flakes, goji berries, and a chocolate drizzle. The bowl was refreshing and packed with many fruits. However, the abundance and crunch of the flax granola were a bit overpowering, overshadowing the other ingredients and making the texture somewhat uneven. Despite that, the overall flavor combination was pleasant, with the natural sweetness of the strawberries and the rich chocolate drizzle complementing each other nicely.
Priced at $7.99, the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie blends strawberry, chocolate protein, and coconut milk with a chocolate drizzle. Unfortunately, this smoothie was disappointing. While the idea of pairing chocolate and strawberry sounds ideal with the Valentine’s theme, the sweetness of the chocolate and the tanginess of the strawberries created an oddly bitter taste. Instead of the smooth, indulgent flavor that was expected of the drink, it leaned too heavily on contrasting flavors that didn’t blend as well as hoped.
While the Bae Bowl 2.0 offers a refreshing and flavorful option with a slight granola imbalance, the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie was a miss. The concept is fun, but the execution of the smoothie leaves room for improvement. The Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie will be available throughout February at Playa Bowls, so if you’re curious to give it a try, you have the whole month to experience it for yourself.
