During an intense game against the Oklahoma City Thunder this past Saturday, Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry broke his own record for the most 3-pointers in a season (288). With almost 30% of the regular season still remaining (24 games), Curry has time to increase his personal record. In addition, Curry tied the record for the most 3-pointers in a single game (12). He shares this accomplishment with Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall. Also, Saturday’s game established that Curry was the first player to make ten 3-pointers in two consecutive games.
Curry was named the MVP of the NBA last season, and the Warriors won the NBA Finals last year against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Curry has transferred this success into this season. With 1718 points so far this season, he has helped the Warriors earn their impressive 53-5 record. The best record in the NBA to date (72-10) was set by the Chicago Bulls during the 1995-1996 season, and many are predicting that the Warriors could break this record this season.
Curry played basketball at Davidson College in North Carolina and was the seventh pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Curry continues to dazzle on the court, and he and the Warriors defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder again last night, with a final score of 121-106.
