The 44th annual Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is taking place from August 19 to October 29, 2023, at Mount Hope Estate in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

Hosted by the Mount Hope Estate & Winery, the event transforms the grounds into a 35-acre 16th-century village filled with period-specific food, entertainment, and artisan merchants. The Renaissance Faire attracts visitors from across the region who are eager to experience an immersive celebration of the Elizabethan era.

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire began in 1980 with a modest joust on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate and has since grown into a seasonal event with themed weekends, featuring knights in armor, fire breathers, and musical performances. This year’s theme weekends include “Pirate Invasion,” “Celtic Weekend,” and “Oktoberfest,” each offering a unique twist on the traditional Renaissance experience.

The Faire showcases over 100 merchants selling handcrafted goods along with a wide array of foods such as giant turkey legs, Scotch eggs, and mead. Entertainment throughout the day includes jousting tournaments, Shakespearean plays, and interactive performances with costumed actors.

All proceeds from the Faire support the ongoing preservation of Mount Hope Estate and its historical programming, ensuring that this cultural celebration can continue for years to come.
