Hershey girls cross country defeated Lower Dauphin 23-35 and Cedar Cliff 15-43 on Cedar Cliff’s home course to secure an undefeated season and a 10th straight Mid-Penn Keystone Division title.
The Trojans were led by junior Sophia Kim, who won in 19:29 in a steady rain. Sophomore Lauren Nutt (20:54), juniors Maddie Endlich (20:56) and Evie Winder (21:17), and senior Riley Burnett (21:46) secured the win by taking 4th through 7th overall.
The Trojan girls have secured every Mid-Penn Keystone Division title since the 2015 season. Since the inception of the Mid-Penn in 1982, the Hershey girls cross country team has won 29 division titles for a 69% win rate.
On the boys side, the Trojans blasted past hosts Cedar Cliff 15-44 and rivals Lower Dauphin 23-35 to secure an undefeated season and the Mid-Penn Keystone Division title.
Seniors Vinay Raman (16:28) and Jacob Abraham (16:31) and sophomore Max Hulays (16:36) secured the top three spots. Senior Will Chappell (17:35) returned from injury to take 8th alongside sophomore Andrew Smith (17:36), who took 9th.
The Trojan boys went back-to-back, securing their second Mid-Penn Keystone Division title in a row and 21 division titles for a 50% win rate.
The Hershey Trojans next compete at the 50th Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Friday, October 4, 2024.
