The Hershey Girls Volleyball team defeated Mifflin County 3-1 on September 24 at home.
Two minutes into the first set, Senior Carson McCormick got a kill, keeping Hershey in the lead 3-0. While Hershey stayed in the lead consistently, Mifflin trailed closely behind. Both teams had great defense, but Hershey ultimately won the first set 25-20.
During the second set, with just three minutes into the game, McCormick got another kill, ensuring Hershey stayed ahead. Junior Gabby Marshall scored a point with a block, making the score 12-7. With Hershey’s strong offense, they won the second set 25-20.
Mifflin began the third set by scoring the first point. Only three minutes into the set, the teams were tied 3-3. With Mifflin’s strong defense, Hershey began to struggle. Although the team tried their best, they lost the third set 25-20.
Leading into the fourth set, Hershey was determined and made a strong comeback. Junior Reagan Cramer went up to serve, giving Hershey the winning point. Hershey won the fourth set 25-20.
Their next game will be on September 26 against Palmyra at Palmyra Area High School.
