The beloved Greek-style restaurant announced its reopening on September 12th at its new storefront on 1190 West Chocolate Ave, formerly occupied by Dafnos. However, their location wasn’t the only change.
“We’re adding a lot more specials. We’ll have weekend specials, more desserts, we’re gonna have coffee, a lot more on the menu,” said George Tsambas and John Avgoustakis, owners and operators of Simply Greek. The daily menu will feature more traditional Greek cuisines, and seafood as compared to before.
In addition to their larger menu, they will offer alcoholic drinks and beer on tap, supplied by the local brewery, Troegs.
Over the years, as Simply Greek became more and more successful, they outgrew their previous location in Briarcrest Square. The new location will hold greater seating capacity, more parking, and of course a broader menu.
The New York-originated owners came to Hershey and saw the lack of culturally diverse food that the town had and decided to blaze a trail towards more ethnic food in this Central, PA community.
“We always wanted to bring our culture and our food to this area,” said Tsambas.
Tsambas and Avgoustakis hope to be able to expand their business towards the Lancaster and West Shore areas. Currently, their focus is fixed on their Hershey restaurant running smoothly, but expanding is always in the back of their minds.
