15,000 Penn State University students gathered at the Bryce Jordan Center on February 19th and raised $9,770,332.32 for the Four Diamonds Fund.
The 46 hour no sleeping, no sitting, dance marathon took place last weekend at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center. This year was the 43rd annual dance marathon and the theme was “Believe Beyond Boundaries.” Four Diamonds ultimate goal is to conquer childhood cancer.
THON weekend is packed with events such as the Pep Rally featuring Penn State athletes and Fashion Shows featuring Four Diamonds children. NFL football player and Penn State Alumni, Devon Still, showed up for a surprise speech alongside his 4 year old daughter Leah, who is a cancer survivor herself. Other notable attendees included Devon Werkheiser, child actor, and local Penn State bands, including Go Go Gadget.
Since the first THON in 1973, over $136 million has been raised for the fight against pediatric cancer.
