The Hershey Boys Ice Hockey team defeated Cedar Crest 4-2 on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Klick Lewis Arena.
Despite the earlier loss to Cedar Crest in the first round of the playoffs, Hershey’s victory Friday night gets them a shot at the division championship. Hershey will face Palmyra for the Bears Cup on Saturday, March 5th at the Hersheypark Arena.
Cedar Crest opened the scoring of the game. Reed Hoffman scored one minute after the puck drop. The Trojans didn’t trail behind very long with a goal scored by Sammy Steele two minutes into the first period.
The Trojan offense controlled the second period. Zane Elliott and Patrick Larkin each netted a goal to skate past the Falcons, 3-1.
Only a few seconds into the third period, freshman Adam Paymer took a blind shot, and the puck went right between the legs of Cedar Crest goalie, Nicholas Kreiser.
Ian Hibshman scored the last goal of the game for Cedar Crest with under thirty seconds left in the game. Despite the late goal Cedar Crest was still two goals short, and Hershey secured the win.
