Film Club is making a triumphant return to the list of clubs at Hershey High School.
The main goal of this club is to provide connections with students who are interested in either making or watching movies. Despite the differences in each member, everyone can find a common interest in their love for film.
Sophomore Katelyn Yurick is the president of Film Club. Her older sister founded the club when she attended Hershey High School. Katelyn was determined to continue it even after she had graduated.
“I was inspired to start up this club again because I’m really interested in filmmaking and all the thought and process that goes into it,” Yurick said. “There are many other students who are interested in all sorts of things that go into film, such as camera work, lighting, scripts, and storylines, and especially the final product.”
Film Club at Hershey High School offers students a platform to explore various aspects of filmmaking, from scriptwriting to cinematography. The club provides opportunities for members to engage in discussions, screenings, and hands-on activities related to the art of cinema. Yurick’s commitment to continuing the club’s legacy underlines its appeal as a creative outlet for students with diverse interests.
“There are many other students,” said Yurick, “who are interested in all sorts of things that go into film, such as camera work, lighting, scripts, and storylines, and especially the final product.”
Meetings are held on Mondays after school at 2:40 in F135. Yurick said students should join the Remind for timely announcements and updates on the meeting schedules using the code: filmshhs.
